The Electrophysiology Unit at University Hospital Ramon y Cajal has training of new professionals and instruction of more advanced electrophysiologists as one of its most important pillars. The high level of specialization required to diagnose and treat cardiac arrhythmias makes it necessary for professionals to constantly learn and improve management of the different invasive techniques performed in this subspecialty.
In order to achieve this, we have different training programmes for Cardiology residents, young electrophysiologists, intensive care physicians as well as consultants already specialized in the treatment of arrhythmias who wish to learn new techniques. Many of these programmes are developed jointly with the University of Alcalá, such as the Master Programme in Cardiac Pacing.
We do daily clinical sessions where the procedures recently performed are analyzed and the upcoming ones are planned, integrating all medical staff involved with each patient. Special attention is given to paediatric patients, where both training and clinical work is jointly performed with the Paediatric Cardiology Department.
